Step 1: Pick Java or Bedrock
Java Edition is on PC and Mac and has the largest range of plugins and mods. Bedrock Edition runs on phones, consoles and Windows. If your friends use both, run a Java server with GeyserMC so Bedrock players can join too.
Step 2: Choose how much RAM
These are starting points. You can move up a plan later if TPS drops or the server runs out of memory.
| Server | Start with |
|---|---|
| Vanilla or Paper with a few friends | 4–8 GB |
| Paper SMP with plugins and a community | 8 GB or more |
| Forge or Fabric modpack | 8 GB or more, and check the pack's own recommendation |
Step 3: Order and open the panel
- Start the 10-minute free trial first if you want to check ping from your own connection.
- Order a plan: budget Intel Xeon plans start at ₹420/mo, Ryzen 9 9950X plans at ₹740/mo.
- Open the game panel from your client area and select your new server.
Step 4: Choose the server software and start it
- Paper is a good default for Java: fast and compatible with most plugins.
- Choose Forge, NeoForge or Fabric if you want mods or a modpack.
- Accept the Minecraft EULA when the panel asks, then press Start.
Step 5: Invite your friends
- Copy the server address and port from the panel and share it with your friends.
- Turn on the whitelist while you are setting up so only invited players can join.
- Set up automatic backups before you build anything you would hate to lose.
Keep it running well
Install Spark to profile lag, pre-generate your world so exploring does not spike the CPU, and keep plugins up to date.
