Free or paid: which one do you need?
Start free if the bot serves one group or a small community and you are still iterating. The free plan runs 24/7 without idle sleep, but it has to be renewed every 7 days in the panel, and it shares hardware with other free users.
Move to a paid plan when the bot handles payments, many chats, scheduled jobs or anything users depend on. Paid plans give dedicated RAM and CPU per plan, more storage and DDoS protection, and they do not need weekly renewal.
Polling vs webhooks on a hosted bot
Long polling is the simplest option: the bot asks Telegram for new updates, so it needs no public HTTPS address. It is the right default for most hosted bots.
Webhooks let Telegram push updates to your bot over HTTPS. They are useful at high volume, but you need a domain, a TLS certificate and an open port. If you are unsure, start with polling and switch later.
How much RAM a Telegram bot needs
- Simple command or notification bot (aiogram, Telegraf, grammY): the 512 MB Starter plan or the free plan is enough for most.
- Bots with a database, image processing or many concurrent chats: start at the 1 GB Pro plan.
- Bots that run AI models, scrapers or media conversion: 4 GB (Ultra) or more.
- Leave about 30% headroom so memory spikes do not restart the bot.

Deploying on HeavenCloud
- Create the server at control.heavencloud.in (free) or order a paid plan on billing.heavencloud.in.
- Upload your code over SFTP or the file manager and add a requirements.txt or package.json.
- Set the bot token as a startup variable instead of hard-coding it.
- Start the server from the console; the panel restarts it if the process crashes.
Frequently asked questions
Can I host a Telegram bot for free?
Yes. HeavenCloud free Telegram bot hosting gives 715 MB RAM, 1 GB SSD and 75% of a CPU core in Nuremberg (Germany) or Miami (USA), online 24/7 with no idle sleep. It needs a renewal every 7 days and no credit card.
How much does paid Telegram bot hosting cost?
Paid Telegram bot hosting on HeavenCloud starts at ₹20/mo (256 MB RAM, 340 MB NVMe). Larger plans go up to 16 GB RAM for ₹1,027/mo.
Should my Telegram bot use polling or webhooks?
Use long polling unless you need very high volume. Polling needs no public HTTPS endpoint; webhooks need a domain and TLS certificate.
Which languages are supported?
Python (aiogram, python-telegram-bot) and Node.js (Telegraf, grammY) are the most common; the Pterodactyl panel also runs Java and Bun.
Does the free plan sleep when idle?
No. The free plan stays online 24/7; it only has to be renewed every 7 days in the panel or it is suspended.
